Part of the mission of the Florida Wiener Dog Derby is to support the various non-profit agencies that provide care, food, shelter and homes for our less fortunate four-legged friends. We are pleased to present this page with information about pets available for adoption and the caring groups that work so hard for their well-being.
This is the best place to find a loyal companion who asks only for someone to love!
Jazz-A-Bell is a Retriever mix between 1 and 2 years old. She is very high energy and loves to be with people. She would make a good companion for a family with older children. She is very smart and enjoys spending time with her favorite volunteers and staff members. She is learning to walk nicely on a leash, sit to greet, and wait before exiting her lodge area. She is good with some dogs.
Frazier is an active Beagle mix, about 5 years old. He needs a home that can provide structure and daily exercise. Due to the high energy level he would do best in a home without small children or other small animals. He knows sit, down and will walk nicely on a leash.
Pearl is an American Staffordshire Terrie mix about 3 years old. She is very friendly with the volunteer and staff she has come to know and trust. She knows a few cues such as sit and wait at the gate. She would do best in a home with no children or small animals.

The Animal Refuge Center is a not-for-profit animal welfare society. We are a non-euthanasia organization dedicated to caring for all homeless animals brought in to our care.
The center began as a hope for a better way other than euthanasia to deal with the problems of unwanted, healthy animals, and the prevention of cruelty to animals. Unfortunately, euthanasia was the solution in 1987 for most unwanted cats and dogs.
Today, ARC is now placing approximately 500 dogs and cats per year into responsible, loving homes through direct and indirect adoptions. ARC's on-going mission is the education of the community regarding the importance of spaying and neutering their animal companions, with the ultimate result being the elimination of euthanasia. We have an active humane education program in both the public and private schools of Lee County. ARC is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals and to the prevention of euthanasia for abandoned dogs and cats
These pets and many more are available for adoption at the Animal Refuge Center...
